The Newtec team, as well as partners Stratosat, Intelsat and Liquid Telecom were there to greet ‘Bakkie’, equipped with its Kymeta flat panel antenna, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre. Special thanks go to MeansWhat for helping to make this happen.
During the journey, from Johannesburg to Cape Town, the performance of the antenna and its Newtec MDM3310 was tracked – a fantastic opportunity for field testing on-the-move connectivity.
Just before the epic roadtrip, Stratosat had run performance tests using Newtec’s MDM3310 modem on Liquid Telecom’s Newtec Dialog® platform over the Intelsat EpicNG IS-33e Ku-band satellite. The results were staggering and achieved the highest available throughput over an EpicNG satellite.
